It is obvious that we all have a problems sometimes but many of us have a severe dysfunctions because of a neglect and abuse in childhood.This book every parent should read , to be a good parent we need to know how and often we don't know or don't understand . We have a responsibility to do the best job we can , we need to love our children. The author takes us through some examples of family dynamics and we learn how it effects the children and even the next generation.Highly recommended book ,must read.

Have been thru the mill during the last few years since my mother’s death. And things with my family just got beyond what I could understand. This book helped. I am living with a clear mind, and understand what and why things are the way they are. And enjoying my own family, happy that I have a loving relationship with my husband and daughter,son in law,and grandchildren. My birth family is no longer a part of my life. The unhealthy enmeshment and other things that I now understand is not normal, is out of my existence.

As others have said, the authoress brings a strong bias to her narration. She disparages many of the gods and aspects of the Norse story-telling tradition. The simple fact is: if you appreciate and respect Norse culture and the gods, then find another illustrated collection of the myths. I wanted to repeat what others have said because I personally read the reviews, bought the book anyway, and now wish I had believed them.

I have the other two National Geographic mythology books by Donna Jo Napoli, and I had pre-ordered this book and was looking forward to getting it. I like the telling of the myths and the illustrations are vibrant and expressive. What I don't like it how the author judges each of the myths. She doesn't just tell the stories, many of them have little comments from her about how the Aesir are cowardly, or whatever. She clearly has a lot of disdain for this whole collection of tales, I wonder why she even agreed to write this book! I would prefer if she just stuck to the stories and let us draw our own conclusions.

the art is good and the stories are written in a simple easy to read manner, but the author has a strong bias against the gods , she speaks ill of all the gods , but seems to hate THOR, so I would not recommend this book if you practice Asatru as I do.

The Good - illustrations are beautiful and the author makes a good job of sorting the sometimes confusing mess of Norse myth that came to us from many different sources into somewhat logical system.The Bad - 1) tone of the book is somewhat patronizing, like she's talking to little kids but it's definitely not a good book for kids - way too many long words, and 2) the author doesn't stick to the myths - there is an ample personal commentary on what she thinks about gods' morals and deeds. If it was not silly enough to judge Gods (or people who came up with these stories) who lived more than a 1000 years ago in a totally different culture buy today Western standards - well, many of the the author's opinions wouldn't even be shared by a lot of of her countrymen and contemporaries.The Ugly - that was pretty much my first exposure to the Norse myth and I had no idea about how much personal bias is in this book until I checked other sources. A lot! And some of it is hard to spot unless you already know your way around both Eddas.All in all - it's OK if you're already familiar with the subject and just looking for interesting illustrations and something to practice your brainwash radar on. Definitely NOT a good introduction to the Old Norse culture.

This book easily is designed for the coffee table as well as a story book I would use to read to my children. The pages are well designed and illustrated, although I was not initially attracted to the artwork, being very Greek in it's design.It gives a very well laid out outline of the myths, from creation to Ragnarok, with snippets of historical facts, and brief captions from previous pages to keep the reader on track on how it relates to the current story.

Simply LOVE IT! The binding, the artwork, the tales, the quality of the paper.. every detail of this book makes it wonderful! I was looking for a book like this since it's perfect for children. It makes it fun for them to read. The only thing is that some of the vocabulary is a bit advance so you will definitely need to read it to them.I bought also the Greek and Egyptian mythology and will definitely buy the Tales from the Arabian Night too.Click the button if this review helped you at all. :)

I bought this book for my 11-year-old grandson who is an honors student studying ancient mythologies and he enjoyed it. I've also bought the Greek Mythology and Egyptian Mythology books by Napoli in this National Geographic series for him as well. The books are well done (as all National Geographic products are) and stimulated his interest in learning more. The amazon online price was roughly half of what I paid for one of the other volumes (with tax) at Barnes and Noble and shipping was free since I could combine it with other purchases, so I was very happy about that! As usual, the amazon experience was positive. Delivery was fast and shipping was better than adequate.

The artwork is interesting but not really my style. Too Picasso. The stories are written in an entertaining way. I didn't know it was so geared toward children when I bought it. Regardless, I didn't know Norse stories and now I have a quality volume that has them.

Having a border collie myself, I was sort of inspired at all the imagery of the scenic locations (and of course Momo). A clever book that I share with other dog owners who haven't seen it.

bought for my grandson for whom its a little hard right now,but my son-in-law loves it ! It should last for a while (He would have like more detail about the place in the photo, and wonders if momo really was in that spot or was he photo shopped in..... We REALLY liked the orig MOMO board book (more age appropriate... but this was nice for the adults! Thanks for giving the solutions...lol

This is such a cute book. Everyone who picks it up off the coffee table can't put it down, the challenge of finding Momo is so much fun. There are other Momo books but I like this one because photos are taken across the country and touches on many places the family has visited over the years. It is fun to see Momo go where we have gone.

This is such a great book. I bought it because my 6 year old was begging to buy it. Her doctor has both Momo books in her office. So we decided to go to the bookstore. They only had 1 which was the original "Find Momo". I came home and searched on amazon to find the other book "Find Momo Coast to Coast".WOW I couldn't believe the price on here. Amazing. It was less then half of what I spent at the bookstore for the 1st book.Anyways my kids loves this book.I had it for about 6 months now. My older kids don't really bother anymore with it but my 1 almost 2 year old LOVES this book. She loves looking for Momo in all the pages. I can't believe how good she is at finding him with her little eyes & fingers.I can't wait for another Momo book to come out.

Our daughter got the first Find Momo book for her 2nd birthday, and it provided her with hours of book reading time (and me with hours of calm!). I couldn't wait to get Find Momo Coast to Coast, and preordered it months ago! We love it! My now almost 3 year old loves, loves, loves Momo, reads one of the two books every single day, shows guests her Momo book, and goes crazy anytime we see a "Momo" dog in public. I only wish the book tour came somewhere near our house because I'd love to see my daughter's face if she got to meet the real Momo!

This a fun book. I recommend it, with one important caveat. Buy a print copy - NOT a Kindle version. I love kindle, and I prefer to read all of my books in this format. It will not open on my computer app, and it opens only in landscape on my phone. This way the pictures are way too small. I ended up keeping the e-book because I wanted to support the author. But I got the hard cover print book at the library.

I think my grandchildren wore out the original Momo book, it was always a favorite - and requested the moment they came over to visit - they absolutely loved looking for Momo. I'm so excited there's a second book out. I've given it as gifts already - and everyone loves the book!

Ok I am beginning to not trust Amazon reviews... How do 74% of people rate this 5 stars?!?! This book is beyond boring and basically repeats the pareto principle over and over and over again.... How many different ways can you say it? Well that's what this book does.Seriously, this could have been a short magazine article. The author provides very few examples outside of the obvious ones as to how to he applied this principle in his own life. Not to mention, some of his examples are extreme suggesting that you can ignore 100% of your emails and inferring they are a complete waste of time. How useful and realistic is that?Very disappointing and I feel mislead by these past reviews.

This is a great book! It explains how typically we put 80% of our time, energy, effort in a way that only gives a 20% return. Doesn't make sense whichever way you look at it. Damon explains the principle of the 80/20 rule and how it can literally change your life. Imagine putting in a 20% effort and getting an 80% result! Sounds too good to be true - but it's not. This book shows how to apply this simple principle in all areas of life - it's not just about being more productive, or running your business better; it is about getting the most out of life: at home, in relationships, in leisure pursuits. The book is straight forward and easy to read. Damon writes in a down to earth, friendly style. He is not lecturing. He is not talking down. He does not use complicated ideas. He is like a friend telling another friend where to find the treasure he has discovered. I really appreciated the practical suggestions and the open invitation to try things out. Sure this is a kind of "self-improvement" book, something that you read for information (i.e. it is "work") but I actually enjoyed reading it. Practical, down to earth and, dare I say it "fun"! Although the title is not catchy, it truly represents the content presented. How do I regularly find myself in the weeds of details and never achieve anything or feeling satisfied? I have yet to live the 80/20 way. I have been following the 80/20 way for over a month now and I can honestly say that it has simplified my life and I actually get more done! The book is a very quick read, like most text from this author. Give it a try!
