Growing up with Mister Rogers always playing in the background I always found myself intrigued by his message. I started watching as a child, at breakfast before catching the bus in my middle school years, and his show became a part of my daily lessons while I was home schooled 8-11th grade my morning agenda would be to do a synopsis on his daily report. While reading this book the feelings of nostalgia rushed back and it made me think of all the wonderful teachings I would love to have for my son who is now 3. I picked up this book and I couldn't put it down. It only took me about 45 minutes to make it through and I probably would have made it through sooner if I wasn't busy bookmarking my favorite pages. For all adults who want to be hit with "the feels" or for young adults who simply want something to read with a cup of tea or coffee, this is the book. I waited years before I finally bought the series and I can say it is something I will read over and over - after a rough day or after an amazing day. It gives you all of the feelings of what a wonderful life it can be. With that being said I will leave you with my favorite message from this book.“Love is like infinity: You can't have more or less infinity, and you can't compare two things to see if they're "equally infinite." Infinity just is, and that's the way I think love is, too.”- Fred Rogers

As the host of the longest running PBS show in history, Fred Rogers inspired entire generations of viewers with messages of love and wisdom. He didn’t have one mean bone in his body. He wasn’t judgmental. He knew that every child had importance, every child had potential, and every child was deserving of love. We take all of these experiences when we grow up and they help us develop our adult personalities, for better or worse. Everything you do matters more than you think. It may not seem like a big deal, but to another human being, it means the world. Don’t be hateful. Don’t be bitter. Be the best possible example of yourself you can be.And finally, another favorite part of this book is the fable Mister Rogers tells of the carpenter who refused to hire an apprentice because he won’t admit to making mistakes and therefore won’t know how to fix them when he does. Making mistakes is a natural part of the human experience, no matter how good of a person you may be. Even Mister Rogers made mistakes in his life that he ended up turning into valuable life lessons. Strength doesn’t come from perfect muscles or superhero abilities. It comes from being able to admit your weaknesses and working to make them into strengths. Egomania never did the world any good.Everything you read in this book may seem like practical commonsense, but the truth is, these things don’t get said enough. Too many times we’ve strayed from our happiness and used our negativity to do awful things to each other. It could be a microcosmic relationship between two people or a macrocosmic political blunder heard around the world. We need Mister Rogers’s wisdom now more than ever. If everybody would pick up a copy of this book and study it until the end of time, we’d be much better off as a human race. An extra credit grade will go to this beautifully-crafted piece of nonfiction.

As a father figure, we see a great one on each page, reassuring the children who looked to him for comfort and education, which is delivered so nicely in this lovely hardcover book...built to be read and re-read. Like comfort food for the Mind and Heart! AND, not so bad for adults who miss or never really had such a great Father Figure in real life.

Get this book for your coffee table. It will make you, your family, your guests feel better for having picked it up, and as it's read just page by page with long quotes and excerpts, it's the perfect coffee table piece.I think Mr. Rogers was one of the best men who ever lived. I watch reruns with my daughter (free if you have Prime!) and it makes both of us better people.

High quality, readable translation of a beautiful book / guru.

I would only ask that the publisher put this into an actual book form if it isn't already.

Over all good. Some minor spelling and grammatical errors.

Translating divinity is never easy. I got this one and another translation just in case. But any book which memorializes the songs of Kabir is high on my list.

I love The Truth, and this book is awesome <3 :)

I just read the first verse in the sample and the translation is not correct.

I WANT TO WRITE A THESAURUS AND DICTIONARY BUT NOT INCLUDE THE WORD ITS REFERING TO. That way, no one can argue that I am wrong unless they had PROOF. But who’s going to TAKE THE TIME to look up the real meaning and accuse me? This is a disgrace! No proof that this author did the correct translation or where to find the words (Paatth) its refering to. Same thing is happening to our religion as the Bible. Christians actually fight and put each other down because they believe their version of the Bible is the real one. THE TRUTH IS, the Bible should have never been authorized to be translated by different AVERAGE NON-HOLY SINING MEN without proof of the words they are refering to- without the original prayer/stories. Jehova’s witnesses, Baptists, Protestants, etc have had conversations with me and most come by my house to spread the word with THEIR OWN translations of the Bible. Seriously, when I asked them about their counterparts, they ACTUALLY HAD THE GUTS to put the other branches down and say OTHER branches’ VERSION of the Bible has been ALTERED and THEIR TRANSLATION OF THE ORIGINAL BIBLE IS THE CORRECT ONE!Isn’t this the same thing happening to our Sikhi? This book should be deleted. It is offensive and incorrect. Unless it is updated with the real Paatth above each line. The way it is SUPPOSED TO BE!

About the Author

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Eddie Landsberg began classical piano training at the age of 5, starting his Jazz Studies at Settlement Music School in his teens. Switching to Hammond Organ, he received his first organ lesson from the legendary Shirley Scott and studied composition and performance with Big John Patton, with additional guidance from Austin Mitchell (an early Jazz organist who was a favorite accompanist of Ella Fitzgerald.) Eddie holds a B.A. in Music from Thomas Edison State University and has done Graduate work at Rutgers University. After recording several CDs which received national radio play in the U.S and serving as a studio demonstrator for the Nord Electro organ, he moved to Japan where he spent almost 20 years teaching, leading bandstands and doing studio work. He returned to the U.S. in 2017.

Like the Author my son holds a BA in Jazz performance guitar and he too spent time in Japan so when I asked him which book ( this one or Blake Neely's) would benefit me more he said hands down this book is the better of the two. The teaching style is easier to grasp and the method modern and well thought out. He could not be more spot on. As a 60 year old amateur musician I found the concepts in Mr. Landsbergs' book easy to follow and better yet easy to retain. So thrilled! I can praise this book enough and I look forward to book 2 as soon as it comes out for the kindle. Now I really enjoy my fake books. I learned so much from this book I feel confidant to start composing.Thank you Eddie!

The author does a good job of providing an overview of life insurance as an investment and savings tool. He is able to communicate the benefits of owning permanent life insurance as a supplement to your financial products. However, I disagree with his strong endorsement of the variable life insurance product.This product is one of the most complex products in the insurance industry. Its fees, costs and performance varies widely from company to company. Given the fact that you can simply borrow your permanent (whole life) insurance cash values and invest them yourself (without the sales loads) why pay twice? Overall a good read, especially for those who are not informed as to how to utilize their life insurance as a financial tool.Ivy League Wealth Secrets: That the Master Planners don't want you to know!

A good book but somewhat dated as its information is 13 years old. If you're looking to better how life insurance is structured to work financially then I'd recommend this book. Because of the older data based conclusions, which seem agent rather than consumer focused, it got 3 stars.

Its okay, but the information is based most of the times about the time the Life Insurance industry awakened up in the 80-90's. So many things are very different now. Still is a good book that provides interesting information.

Very good summary of the products available and how to use them. Wish I would have had this book before I purchased investment grade life insurance - it would have saved me a costly mistake. As it is, the book is helping me salvage the mistake. It still remains a good tax sheltered vehicle for investment if properly used and understood.

After reading about 20 books now in the realm of plant based nutrition I would have to say this is the one I would recommend to someone wanting to learn not only about the health benefits of a plant based diet, but a summary of what impact it livestock has on the health of our planet, the role Big Food plays in shaping government guidelines, and why we haven't heard more of the scientifically proven benefits of a plant based diet. I understand alot of people do not have the time to invest to reading multiple different books books on the various topics and some really just want to get started on a healthy path. Well this is it in a nutshell.What makes this book the complete package however is the McDougall Guide of what we should and shouldn't eat. This is organized in a stop light fashion where "red" foods such as meat, dairy, eggs, and vegetable oils are the ones we should avoid. The "yellow" foods are ones we should be careful with, especially if weight(fat) loss is your goal. These include higher fat foods such as nuts/seeds, avocados, and tofu. The "green" light foods are ones we should eat in abundance. They are full of fiber and keep us satiated. These include fruits, vegetables, and starches (beans, potatoes, rice, corn, oatmeal, soups, cereals, peas, etc. Basically the foods all large populations have eaten throughout history which rarely suffer the diseases we see in America on the Standard American Diet (meats and sweets which consists of 70% meat and dairy products, 20% simple sugars and refined starches, 5% fruit, and 5% nonstarchy vegetables).Lastly, it has a great section of recipes in the back of the book. These consists of typical breakfast foods like french toast, banana pancakes, breakfast burritos, as well as bowls, salads, soups, tofu, potato, rice, bean, pasta dishes, burgers, wraps, pizza, sauces, and dessertsThis books has excellent guidelines to change your life and to witness for yourself all the benefits of plant based nutrition. I need to go check my cholesterol for the final test. It takes a little willpower at first and some creativity but it is easy to stay motivated because of the amazing results I have seen so far. The recipes are awesome.....those pancakes on the cover are bangin' good. I HIGHLY recommend this lifestyle change for everyone. I am a 55 year old post-menopausal female who could stand to lose another 10-12lbs.....if it works for me, it can work for you.

Here’s the tough part” no meat or dairy and no or low fat. The good part is dramatic weight loss, increased energy, regular digestion, less joint pain, even emotional stability (all my experience). And finally, carbs are a necessity and not disparaged.McDougall has been around for years and thankfully, has not caved to diet trends of the times; so this book is still based on a starch-based, low fat vegan regimen he recommended years ago. However, the book has a nice graphic section that simplifies the diet, as well as commentary that addresses current issues and trends (environmental, organic, Paleo etc.) so it’s a great opportunity for those new to McDougall to be introduced to the plan, or those who knew of it long ago to re-visit it. That was my case, as I’ve been vegetarian for nearly 30 years, including eggs and dairy. A must read for every serious cook/chef and anyone wanting to know more about the food they eat. Incredible information. I love cook books. This is so much more. I had to read every single word in this book because I didn’t want to miss one thing.

This is such a well-written and smart book. Another great by Karen Page, I really believe this book should be in the private culinary library of every professional chef, cook, and culinary student right along side her book the “Flavor Bible”. As a professionally trained chef, I find it an absolute inspiration.
